The German Government and parliament Bundestag (House of Representatives) at the very end of the year 2020 finally decided on significant changes for the further development of offshore wind in Germany. The installation target1 for offshore wind in 2030 was raised from 15 to 20 gigawatts, which was a long-time industry demand. However, even more significantly, an ambitious installation target was set for the year 2040 at 40 gigawatts for the first time.
The 2021 edition of HOW conference will discuss with a prominent panel what these significant political improvements in Germany imply for all stakeholders from a German, European but also global perspective. How will these new targets change the perception of the German offshore wind industry in a rapidly developing global offshore wind landscape? In addition, the digital conference will focus on the long term plan, from 2030 to 2040, and discuss how this significant offshore capacity build-up can be achieved and aligned with all stakeholders over that decade towards 2040 to archive maximum investor attractivity and an cost-effective and efficient build-up of industry capacities and infrastructure.
